The Role

We are looking for a commercially-minded Finance Director to lead Harrison Group’s ambitions, both financially and operationally, through strategic planning and implementation. The FD will report into the MD, and they will be part of the senior management team, responsible for delivery on the financial goals agreed.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Director to join a fast-paced, dynamic consumer-focused business.

The job holder is expected to proficiently undertake the following tasks:

1) Responsible for long-range planning (annual and 3-5-year plans) and preparation of strategic review for the Board.

2) Profitability management through financial and operational controls

3) Cash and working capital management / treasury management (cash and FX) – essentially running to improve return on capital.

4) IT lead and owning the business systems, maintenance and security.

5) Delivering insightful performance reporting, robust budgeting, and financial control

6) Business and operational planning, budgeting & forecasting

7) Identify risks and opportunities for investment and expansion opportunities

8) Form an integral part of the regional leadership team, enabling a strong understanding of financial and operational issues by linking financial and operational information to strategy and commercial outcomes.

9) Seek creative and innovative financial solutions to assist the regions in achieving their strategic goals, balancing revenue outcomes and efficiencies within the agreed performance and cost base settings.

10) Drive business performance through influencing senior leaders with critical information and analysis.

11) Oversee and execute day to day operational functions (compliance, tax planning and strategy, and financial reporting), as well as ensuring the team delivers on financial modelling, commercial analysis and strategic projects.

12) Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement opportunities are actively identified and discussed.

To carry out the duties above, the following skills, competencies and experiences are necessary:

2) You will be working across all areas of the business with managers to understand and capitalize on efficiencies both financially and operationally.

3) The need of gravitas / influencing skills / building trust – “board level presence”, able to interact with and influence peers in the boardroom

4) We are looking for a high energy and persistence, who has a had FD experience in adding tangible commercial value and who has ambition to progress further.

5) We need someone who can work at pace across a broad region and who has the mindset to add value while challenging commercial stakeholders.

6) Experience of exploiting analytics / data to support commercial decision making / strategy / performance improvement.

7) Ideally you will also have a track record of improving processes and excellent attention to detail and reporting as well as developing best in class commercial/FP&A insights and teams.
